The video that I am adding to the collection is entitled, "What it Takes to be an Effective Teacher in the Year 2010 and Beyond!" I chose this video because it provides you with insight into how ensure that you are being most effective. Integration (including technology), reflective practices, teaching to a student's learning style, etc. are all things that we as educators are aware of. However, I believe that many times we become bogged down with teaching to the standards and passing the test, that we forget to use these common practices on a regular basis. One very interesting point that was made in this video was that digital natives learn to type before the can speak.
I too was looking for a video to add to the collection that shows teachers how to integrate 21st century technology into our classrooms to prepare our student for the future. Your video gives some really good points and pictures demonstrating easy ways to help our children learn. My favorite part was how we have to remember that the new generation are more hand on and social and we have to remember that in our teaching strategies. I liked the picture of the kids at the computer on exercise balls. I love that adding the movement that they need to concentrate. I do that but it helps me with my ADD to multi-task...which is what the new generation is multi-taskers! Good video!!
